STILLWATER -Knowing the current market trends and information is important in today’s growing economy. The OSU Library, in cooperation with the Spear’s School of Business, now offers the IBISWorld database in its collection.
“One thing that makes this database so great is that you can find 60-page reports on narrowly defined industries like tanning salons or bowling allies,” said Steve Locy, Associate Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences division.
IBISWorld covers more than 700 NAICS industries and allows students and faculty to access the same information available to the Fortune 500. Each industry report will be updated every three to four months, giving current and important data useful to those doing research in the field.
Report Segments include
- Industry Definition
- Market Characteristics
- Segmentation
- Performance
- Outlook
“At the moment, we are gauging interest in IBISWorld to see if we should branch out from just American companies and add the European or the Chinese industries modules,” said Locy.
To access IBISWorld, go to www.library.okstate.edu and select “databases.” If you have questions about this or other electronic library resources, contact the Digital Library Services office at 405-744-9161 or 877-744-9161 (toll-free outside Stillwater). You may also email at lib-dls@okstate.edu
